Not least due to the high quality of service, which follows the motto ‘Inspiration of Japan’, ANA has been awarded the top ranking of 5 stars every year since 2013 by the well-known rating company SKYTRAX. In addition, ANA has been honoured as ‘Airline of the Year’ by Air Transport World four times - in 2007, 2013, 2018 and 2025. This makes ANA one of only a few airlines to have received this coveted award on multiple occasions.
ANA was founded in 1952 with a fleet of just two helicopters and has since grown to become Japan's largest airline and one of Asia's most important airlines with 55 international and more than 130 domestic routes. An exceptional double hub allows passengers to travel via the two airports in the Tokyo metropolitan area - NARITA and HANEDA - to many destinations within Japan, and often onward to various North American, Asian and Chinese cities on the same day. ANA has been a member of Star Alliance since 1999 and has joint venture partnerships with United Airlines, Lufthansa German Airlines, Swiss International Airlines and Austrian Airlines.
In addition to the award-winning full-service carrier ANA, the ANA Group operates three additional airline brands: Air Japan, Peach Aviation, and ANA Wings. In fiscal year 2023, the ANA Group employed more than 41,000 people and carried a total of 39.3 million passengers with a fleet of 240 aircraft. ANA is proud to be the first airline in the world to operate the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and currently has the largest fleet.
